Mid-September to Mid-October Sightings

  • Dakota Outcalt – a Black-throated Blue Warbler, Winter Wren, & Hermit Thrush in their backyard plus a Blue-headed Vireo at Blackhawk Springs
  • Ginny Schmidt – 2 Hermit Thrushes, 2 Red-breasted Nuthatches, and a female Evening Grosbeak in her yard
  • Ken Frey – 2 Red-breasted Nuthatches, a White-breasted Nuthatch (unusual for them) and Juncos in their yard
  • Phil Schwab – 6 or 7 Pied-billed Grebes, a Great Blue Heron, a Green Heron and Cedar Waxwings at Aldeen Golf Club
  • Larry Balch - had called in a sighting of a Ross’s Goose at Howard’s Farm as well as Snow and Cackling Geese
  • Mary Kisamore - reported that Purple Finches were coming to the Severson Dells feeders
  • Jennie Outcalt - reported that Pine Siskins have been seen in the DeKalb area.
