Came across the Mississippi at Fort Madison on 3/11/07- thousands upon thousands of Canvasbacks – and several Lesser Scaup and Ring-necked ducks interspersed.  It was quite a sight, with all of them bobbing along. Hundreds of gulls as well, which I need a whole lot more practice to identify!
