The Hudsonian Godwit first found by Matt Vincent on Sunday, May 18 is still present in the fluddle at the NE corner of IL 75 and Meridian Road in northern Winnebago County. It was seen today at 2:30 p.m. by Keith McMullen and Craig Taylor. If anyone goes out there and finds the bird, please post to the list as a comment to this post. Thanks.

The Hudsonian Godwit was at this location at 5:45 p.m. this evening. It was feeding in small puddles in the mudflat a short distance from the large puddle. Also present were Dunlin, Killdeer, an American Pipit and Cliff Swallows.

I just received a telephone call that 4 birders from Chicago relocated the godwit at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday. It was found on the west side of Meridian Road in the flooded fields furthest north from IL 75, well back off of the road near some power lines, as I understood the message.

Another call. This time the bird was seen at 1:30 p.m in the same place. BUT WAIT, ANOTHER HUDSONIAN GODWIT WAS REPORTED FROM OLIVER ROAD ABOUT 1/2 MILE WEST OF HARRISON ROAD LATER THIS AFTERNOON.
