Barbara and I saw an adult male perched in the dead branches at the top of a Siberian Elm by the bike rack at Bloom School between 5-6:00 p.m. today. It stayed there throughout our cruise through the neighborhood during the hour we were there.

Around 5:30 p.m., we spotted two other adult males were soaring with, and diving on, a Cooper's Hawk over the intersection of James and Pelham, behind the School of Medicine. We watched the two kites until they disappeared. Shortly after, we found one male perched in the large dead tree at Pleasant View and Buckingham.

On 6/23, around 5:00 p.m., Barbara saw 4 kites (3 males and 1 female) perched in a big dead tree immediately W of the intersection of Westchester and Buckingham. It may be that the best time to look for kites is immediately after a rain storm.
