Boone Cty Field Trip 4-28-18

We had a pretty windy day for the field trip but sun shine all day. We started the day at Candlewick Lake where we had 50 species of birds including Common Loons and Purple Martins. We then went to Piscasaw Fen where we had 30 Species including seeing very recently fledged Great Horned Owls. Next was Kishwaukee Valley where we had 26 species including Wilson’s Snipe. We hit Garden Prairie Slough where we had Sora, Chimney Swift, and Bank Swallow. We finished at Ipsen Rd where we had Great Egret, American Kestrel, and Cliff Swallow. By the end of the day we had seen 79 species including a Swallow slam.
